Author bed bug questions - moving to new home

I seem to have defeated teh bed bugs, at least to the exten that I don't
see blod spots anywhere and searches of the mattress ond boxspring show no
new signs.

I am moving from my apartment to a house sometime in the next month or 2.
what are the chances that I am taking these with me?

I am leaving behind the bed and sofa that were known infested. I am
concerend about dressers and file cabinets that were on the otherside of
the infested bedroom, as well as electronics gear that was similraly
located and in the dining room attached to the living room that has the
sofa.

Bed was treated at various times with permetrhrin, tempo (edges and inside
of boxspring and baseboards only) and gentrol. Ditto the sofa and the
floor around each.

I'd rather not give up all my belongingns - can't really afford to buy all
new all at once. I am willing to thorw awaay or clean/dry on the hot
cycle all clothes.

Do I need to have the new house sprayed in a genreal way (all floors, base
boards, etc.) to have onfidence that visitors won't pick up anything I
bring along inadvertently?

Can I put the eclectronic gears in plastic bags and treat with something
like Whitmire 565 plus XLO?

Looking for suggestions.

Thansk in advance for any and all help.

Thanks. Ando of course the answer raises a few more questions:

How long does the elctronics and furniture stay in the bags with the
strips?

How does the stuff treated that way need to be aired out, if at all,
defore going into the new house?

Where do I find bags big eneough to wrap a dresser or file cabinet?

Thanks again.

I would place a strip inside the middle drawers , or underneath cabinet .
One month or less .

A day or two in plastic bag with electronics .

Dichlorvos is an organophosphate insecticide registered for indoor,
terrestrial non-food, greenhouse (food and non-food) and domestic
outdoor use. There are no agricultural crop uses for this chemical.
Target pests are flies, gnats, mosquitoes, chiggers, ticks, cockroaches
and other nuisance insect pests. For the turf and ornamental uses
target pests also include armyworms, chinch bugs, clover mites,
crickets, cutworms, grasshoppers, and sod webworms. Formulation types
include baits, liquids and impregnated materials.
The majority of dichlorvos uses are indoors, including mushroom
houses, greenhouses, commercial, residential and industrial buildings,
farm buildings, food handling establishments, trash receptacles, and
wine cellars.

I'm not all that crazy about the idea of organophosphates - If I seal the
fcabinets, dressers, adn bag the electronics than use the Whitmire "565
pluus XLO", would that be less effective?

In either case, what kind og cleaning is need afterwards to handle the
items?

My comments were in the direction of DDVP as a low vapor pressure
alternative organic phosphate. Bed bugs are more susceptible with OP as
opposed to pyrethrums and kin .
The pest strip action would be gone shortly after removal .
Besides , bed bugs will eventualy come crawling for blood .
No-one on just a newsgroup can zero in on the situation . There have been
numerous cases of bat bugs, ticks or fleas, being mistaken for bed bugs .
Good sanitation, inspection of the surroundings and vectors for incoming has
always been the first rule .
