| For the first time in 18 years I am experiencing an ant invasion. My townhouse is 105 years old and I haven't change my food preparation, storage or garbage routines. What gives?
Where are these ants coming from? Do you have any suggestions for getting rid of them? I don't particularly care for sprays.
I should note I live in an urban area.

You need to have the ant identified so to be able to know if it is a
species living inside or one coming from the outside and knowing what
bait may be your best bet to use. Need to thoroughly inspect for them to
determine if they are an outside species coming in, where to address
them outside to help stop the invasion. If you just try random baits
start with terro or combat and if they feed on them, depending on the
species you might have success.

| This will probably sound goofy, but I personally just vaccuum up the
ants in my house. I don't squash 'em. It's very simple and clean.
Plus, they'll die on their own and I won't feel *that* guilty for the
genocide I just committed.. :| heh.
I'll also lay out traps as well to stop them from continuing to come
into the house. I'm very pleased with COMBAT ANT KILLING GEL.
There's like 3 ways to use that stuff.
1) fill the hole they coming into the house with it, and they'll HAVE
to eat thru it in order to get in.
2) cut tiny little pieces of paper and put the gel on 'em and lay 'em
out in easy to reach places so they can eat it..
3) the box actually recommends you to lay out a little line of the gel
across their paths, so they'll walk thru it..
Anyways.. I just don't like spraying RAID. There's no way to spray
raid into an area and *NOT* have ourselves come into contact with it.
It's just *NOT* possible.
Not that I don't use RAID... I do.. I just don't like using it in the
house...
