Indeed! A friend of mine has one of these serpentine-looking male Siamese
cats whose penchant is for murdering and dismembering possums. It looks
quite predatory even with its mouth closed by the two fangs hanging down
between its whiskers, and when it yawns the whole top of its head disappears
to be replaced with a pink version of a set bear trap - with white serrated
edges.
This is a pussy of some mettle!
My poor friend is often greeted in the morning with a chewed possum on the
carpet, or even just an amorphous pile of possum guts. But they all love
him dearly and he spends the whole day curled up asleep on the sofa.
The Australian brush-tailed possum is a large cat-sized hardy beast with
claws and sharp teeth, and a hide as tough as Kevlar, and a foul disposition
to boot. Any kitty who can slaughter and dismember one a night will not
waste its time on mice and rats.
Go cat!
