| Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Craig. Actually, I bought two Tomcat
and two Victor plastic traps this weekend, but have been hesitant about
using them. I think now that I will make the switch. The old-fashioned ones
are just too difficult for me to set. The Tomcats look like they would be
more effective, so I'll buy them in the future.
The Tomcat package states that I should not bait the traps, though the
packaging for the similar Victor traps suggests using peanut butter inside
the "jaws". Any thoughts on this? My most common placement is perpendicular
to walls or boxes in our attic areas, to catch the stray field mice that
seem to find their way there several times a year.
