Author termite control / defense for quadplex townhouse?

Hi alll,

My townhouse is an end-unit of a quadplex. We've had termite
monitoring system installed and paied annual monitoring fees for years.
Obviously this is not quite effective to prevent termites since the
neighboring units are not being monitored (I am not sure what they have
done; maybe they have liquid treatment).

But for argument sake, what is the best way to protect my townhouse? I
was told by someone that the best way would to put liquid treatment
around the WHOLE quadplex. It's going to be quite expensive, and I am
not sure whether the neighbors would want to cooperate.

Please let me know what you think!

Thanks,
JT

JT,

A termite moitoring / baiting system will work well, but any treatment
option - liquid or bait - should be around the entire structure.
Baiting, traditionally, can be expensive, but depending on the
structure, a properly done liquid treatment could easily cost as much.

A good idea would be to have all the owners meet and discuss this need,
then shop for quality protection at a fair price.

The best protection would to have a liquid treatment done with a
product called Termidor. The more of the complex that you could treat
the better it is, though if you only had the soil around your unit
treated along with key areas inside you would have much better
protection that what you have now and possibly depending on what you pay
a year could pay for itself with the savings in 4 or 5 years.
