| Boy I have to share this..We live in Bastrop county Texas which is "out in
the sticks" aways from Austin..In the back yard we put up two nice bird
feeders..Well we started discovering the big one was tipped in the
morning..So I watched one night..Went to the bay window and on the back deck
was a raccoon sitting there looking at me..Later I saw him jump up the pole
the feeder was on and climb it..Well..Figured we would stretch a steel cable
between two trees and hang the feeders on that..Guess what? He figured that
out.Guess he shinnys across the cable...Then I figured "lets put something
slick up there he can't hold on to" so we went and got sections of half inch
copper pipe, slipped it over the cable and hung the feeders..Oh, but to make
sure he would slip off I sprayed the sh*t out of the copper pipe with white
lithium...He STILL got up there..Last night I put a motion detector light up
and that didn't seem to scare him off..This is like "super coon" I guess my
only other choice is to trap him..I hate the thought of killing him but out
here it's illegal to move them...Not sure what to do but I am beginning to
worry that if I take down the feeders he will thrash my screen porch to get
inside looking for food..He already has been on my deck...Is there any
repellant, deterrant or am I basically screwed unless I want to kill the
little guy?
Thanks so much for any wisdom!!!
John
