Author Drywood termites question

Live in Southern California where dry wood termites are prevalent. The last
time I had them, they infested rafters in the attic. That was treated by
fumigation.

What can I do to prevent them from getting back into the attic? The current
soffit vents have 1/4 inch mesh. Would it help if I glue some window screens
with small mesh over the 1/4 " mesh? Any other suggestions?
