Hi,

Hope someone can help.

I have a dead raccoon trapped under my deck. Problem is that it is in a
location I can't reach unless I tear the deck apart. I have no problem
letting it decompose naturally but the stench is bad and I am worried about
disease.

I can see it through the cracks in the deck and can pour liquid or powder
(maybe) on the carcass.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to avoid tearing
apart the deck.

Thanks.

Alan

You can take a piece of rod or wood with something sharp on the end of it in
a cross, something like a barb, anr run it under the deck and spin it in the
fur of the raccoon and pull it out. It may come out in more than one piece
but you can use that method. Barbed wire will also work. If you don't want
to attempt that you can always pour brown vinegar on it and that will kill
the odor for a few days, you may have to do it a few times to get through
the decomposition, but it will also work.
