| Just found this group. I have had a problem last summer and again this year
with a skunk. Its seems he comes around about 2 hours past sun set. Some
nights its like he is inside the house. I live within the City limit and
discharging a fire arm is against the law. I heard moth balls would deter a
skunk.
Any ideas on what we can go.
Thanks in advance

Vinegar brown apple cider vinegar around the areas where he seems to be
going under the house will deter him. Any animal that runs with their sense
of smell can be ran away using vinegar. Us it full strength for a few weeks
and it should make the animal change it's mind and look for a different
place to go, they are creatures of habit. Once the habit of going under your
house is broken they probably wont come back.

| guess I wasn't clear he is not going under the house just in the yard. We
are not sure what route he travels but a few gallons of vinegar is worth a
try.
Thanks

You can buy live traps online for not much money and trap it yourself if you
want to attempt it. I would try the vinegar it WILL WORK. It is much less
and you dont have to deal with removing it and taking a chance of getting
sprayed.

| I WILL try the vinegar have it on the list to get next time at the store.
You can take it to the bank I will not buy a trap, and take a chance of
getting sprayed.

If a skunk is in a trap and you throw a blanket over it, it won't spray;
they won't spray what they can't see.
A friend has trapped dozens of them - literally! - on her horse farm and
taken them to our state U for a disease study. Nary a spraying, not even
bouncing around in the back or her van.

Your right Sherry but if the original poster's luck is anything like mine
they would get sprayed trying to throw the blanket over the trap. I can just
see me trying it and as I throw the blanket the skunk would spray, but then
that is my luck.

| If it's getting in the house ,
then shut the window and or door.
Screens work well also .

| I can hear her response now. Honey can I use a blanket to cover up the skunk
I just trapped? Wont even go there.
