I have seen a recent post about an exterminator fined for a treatment.
I also, looking back, notice a post about an exterminator in court for
assaulting a state "regulator". Both of these posts were started by
someons here called "ipman", and looking back over the posts, this guy
sure does his share of bashing other exterminators. Sure does give you
guys a bad name! Don't any of you guys get along?

Some of us do Don. Then there are some who let their egos go to thier
head.
Its a fact of life and perhaps in all professions I assume. Defining
professionalism apparently can be hard for some to practice.

What others PCO"s do in here reflects on us all sometimes. Not all the
time though. Take a corrupt Doctor. If one doctor is corrupt does this
amke all doctors corrupt? Not rightly so.

Pest Control is lile any other industry. It has its quality
professionals, then it has its assholes too. Pardon my expression, but
I am who I am.

Some of us are here strictly for productive purposes such as educating
the consumers, addressing their concerns to the best of our abilities,
and providing practical information. Some of us (PCOs) also learn from
each other here too, advise each other on alternate approaches, and
interact in a civil manner even if we do have differences of opinion.

Do any of us get along? Of course! United Pest Man and I are like two
peas in a pod although we are of different genders, come from two very
different localities, encounter very different climates and pest
problems in our areas, and have never met in person. I could say the
same for a number of other PCOs who come here.

But as mentioned above, professionalism shouldn't be contingent upon
whether colleagues get along or not. True leadership and
professionalism is something that should be practiced consistently
regardless of any personality conflicts. It is the only way to earn
and keep the respect of peers, consumers, and the public at large.

It's unfortunate when things like this occur, but it happens. There's
not much the rest of us can do to control the actions of others, so
hopefully our own individual actions and are own individual conduct
will speak greater volumes so that we are not pigeon-holed into a
negative blanket stereotype.

Being the subject of one of those posts, all I can say is that as
imperfect individuals, we all make mistakes sometimes. I have been
doing termite & pest control for 16 years, 11 of those as a business
owner on my own. I have met many, many good people in our industry, and
I have met a few who - I'll leave that alone.

We all make mistakes, and it is wrong for us to publicly slam other
PCO's just for the sake of slam. Yes, I had differences with my state.
Yes, I was fined. Did I do wrong? Not in my opinion, nor the opinion of
a District Judge or many, many other local PCO's. I decided to pay a
fine in order to avoid a long, expensive lawsuit that, even after
winning, would cost more than the fine. A disagreement over state law
and label wording.

But, yes, we as professionals can and do get along, IF we choose to. It
is, in fact, a choice we all make or not make.

Jeff honestly I wish you all the best. I only wish you had answered like
this when the original post was made it would have cleared up a lot of
questions before they were ever asked. I understand that there are many
"Gray" areas on the labels and we dont always agree with the state but 99%
of the time the state is going to win, probably more like 99.9% of the time
they will win. I hope the fines weren't to bad on you. Please in the future
if this ever happens again, which I hope for your sake it doesnt, dont avoid
the subject hell you did nothing wrong so just say so and let's all move on.
If you dodge the question you make everyone think you have something to
hide. I am glad you didn't and I am glad you made it through this incident
just fine, now can we all get back to helping those that ask questions of
us?

Tim, please understand that due to Mark Nelson's history of trouble
making, I simply will not dignify his requests for information. The
spirit behind his post was to discredit and do harm, period. I will not
ever answer his questions due to the fact that he has proven that all
he wants is to start trouble and argue, making others look bad and him
look good.

Now, let me explain something. Here in Kansas, there is a thing called
the Kansas Open Records Act. It provides for release of public records,
however, the one requesting access to those records must file a request
for release of specific records. I contacted the Kansas Department of
Agriculture after that post was made, and NO request had been filed for
release of my records. Therfore, the provisions of the Act were
violated. It's called equal treatment under law - I was fined for what
they said was a violation of law, now they have violated, and it is
time for someone to be held responsible. That is why I contacted my
attorneys.

As a side note, if anyone (excepting Mark Nelson) wants information on
me, they can always email me or call me with their question. That
certainly would be a much better way to get information and keep the
peace.

Folks on Marks behalf and Jeff's behalf both they are good people that just
simply dont get along. That happens in life and that does not mean either of
them are bad people or that either of them are wrong for their views because
not one of us here knows what their views are. They know the reasons why
they feel the way they do and lets leave it with them. For Mark's sake and
for Jeff's sake let's leave this post alone. It is a non productive post
that is going no where. I feel certain they have both said things in the
past that they wish they could retract as we all have but it can't be done
but there is no sense in rehashing it here. Please I ask everyone can we
stop this and mover on? Can we consider this thread closed before way to
many feelings are hurt and it escalates into something it needs not.

Thank you Please let's call a truce.
