Author Bed bug story in Plymouth, Mass...

I stayed one night in the XXXXXX Hotel in Plymouth, Mass and was
infested with bed bugs. When I woke up in the morning, I noticed a
couple of mosquito like bites on my arm, and a bit of blood. Looking
back at the bed, I noticed a couple of little crawling bugs on the
sheets, and when I looked under the bed sheets on the edges of the
mattress, a lot more and a lot of little black spots.

Long story short, when I got home, everything I was travelling with
(suitcase, briefcase, clothes) went into the bathtub so the little
bastards could not climb out. Then, after a couple of hours research on
the internet, I emptied my freezer of food and put EVERYTHING in there.
I turned the freezer up until it was -20, and left it there for 3 or 4
days.

End of story, I found a couple of dead bed bugs in the bathtub, and
more at the bottom of the freezer and in the cracks of my suitcase when
I took them out. The little bloodsuckers had crawled about 6 feet from
the bed in the hotel, and worked their way into the wheels and joints
of my luggage. But I had got them all. I shudder to think of the
problems I would have had if I had just put the luggage back in my
bedroom, and put all my clothes back with the rest of my clothes in my
closet.

These things are a very nasty problem, and now I check out the mattress
seams thoroughly at every hotel I stay at, and if I think I may have
encountered some, the luggage and clothes go back in the freezer for a
couple of days just to make sure.

I hope this helps someone.
