Hi,
Recently I discover that my wardrobe has been infested by termites.
What a nightmare!!! I have all my cloth inside and it stink like hell.
This is really the worst thing you can have in your life! Why me? I
keep my room hygiene, I clean my room often, I keep insect repellent
ball in my wardrobe, is this not enough to keep these bastard away?

After some research on the net, I'm still not quite sure wether it's
drywood or subterranean termites. I have found something that looks
like pellets produced by drywood termites in my wardrobe, so I guess
it should be drywood termites. But then I also found mud shelter tubes
on the floor in my bath room. If I'm not wrong, only subterranean
termites build mud shelter tubes. I'm now confuse what type of termites
I have.

Below is my question:
1)I live in 5th floor of a private apartment, can(or will) subterranean
termites go such a long way from beneath the ground up to 5th floor of
a building? Isn't it they have to return to the ground every day?

2)Other than the mud shelter tubes I found in my bathroom, threre is
also some mud like thingy in my wardrobe, it is a bit sticky on the
surface where it is on and it usually goes in a straight line along the
edge of something I put in wardrobe. And no, it doesn't looks like a
shelter tube at all as it is rather thin, any idea what is this?

3)I found that the cardboard I keep in the upper deck of my wardrobe
has also been targeted by the termites, assuming it is drywood
termites, is it feasible to use bait method to kill off the termites? I
have read that bait won't work on drywood termites but I think if the
critters come out to eat the cardboard, won't they also eat the bait as
well?

4)I have come acroos such powder from a local store that claims to
eliminate termite colony. accroding to the description, it is not
chemical and thus cause no hazard to human. How it works is when the
worker termites make contact with the powder, it will bring
back(unconsciously)the powder to their colony, through a process called
groomimg in which the termites rub each other the powder will pass
through one termite to another, this powder has a dehydration effect on
the termites and will kill the termites slowly allowing it to spread.
I have search through the web and fail to find any termite control
method that works this way. Is this really works or just a scam?

5)Assuming the powder mentioned in question 4 really works, I plan to
place some cardboard in my wardrobe and sprinkle some powder on it,
this will act as a bait, do you think this will work?

Sorry for the lengthy post and thanks for yuor time. Any help will be
very much appreciated.
