Hi, there:
My house have some termite problems. After reading some post in this
group, I'm aimed to use Phantom. (I'm in NY). However, one of PCO
says that due to the sandy condition of soil in our area, liquid
treatment will not last long. He has clients who do the liquid treament
will need to retreat every 2 or 3 years. We are in the process to get
more quotes. But in the mean time, is this PCO's statement true or not.
Is liquid treatment suitable in the sandy soil or not?

Thanks for any advice.

Some of the older termiticides where effected with the PH of the soil
rather than being sandy or not, so it is possible "some" liquids he is
aware of has had problems, but phantom has not been on the market much
more than three years so, I doubt he could really place it in that
category. What part of NY are you in?

Hi, Lar:
I'm in the Nassau county of Long Island. I think he indicate the
chemical treatments are easy to be washed out by rains. . I asked how
about Phantom. He didn't give me the straight answer and just said that
Sentricon works better in our area.

The soil itself would have to washed away for it to be a problem, and
I'd think the termite issues would be minor compared to the foundation
problems :/ I'm checking with some N'yorkies to see if they may have
ideas who you might try to talk too.

You might give Jim with Pest Quest a call... 1-866-339-BUGS (2847) Knew
he was located on Stanton Island, but wasn't sure if he handled Long
Island until I checked... he'll answer any questions you might have.
