Bed Bugs? or something else?

| I've been traveling for work (leave monday, come back friday), and
staying at the same hotel for the past 6 months.
Also, while I am traveling for work, I also train in
grappling/wrestling.
3 months ago, I went to a dermatologist for a wart removal and had her
take a look at a red itchy patch of skin (I thought it could be
ringworm), but she said it was nothing.
Last weekend when I got home, I noticed I had some itchy red spots on
me.
There was a patch on my left bicep, and in my left armpit, and 3 along
my belt-line, and a couple on my stomach.
I thought nothing of the ones along my belt line, could just be a
clogged pore from too tight pants or something, but the ones on my left
arm and armpit, I thought could be ringworm so I made an appointment
with the dermatologist for next week.
But now (another week at the hotel, but in a different room) I have
about:
6 spots on my stomach/lower chest,
2 on my left rib cage, 2 on my right ribcage
1 on my upper chest
1 on my left knee, 2 on my right knee
1 on my neck
So it seems like most of the bites are happening on my trunk.
Most of these bites look like little mosquito bites.
Could they be bed bugs?
I look around the mattress last night before I went to sleep (2 am) and
this morning when I got up (8am) and did not see anything crawling.
But if they are bed bugs, wouldnt more bites be either on my head
around or ankle area?
Since I assume they come from the edge of the bed, they would strike
the nearest target.
Any advice on what I should do about my luggage (as I am concerned
about bringing pests home)
How can I tell what exactly these red spots are?
I looked on google images, and they look like:
bug bites, hives, etc...they all look the same! lol.

I would think that if it were bed bugs you probably would have blood
stains on your sheets..as they feed and gorge themselves, they make room
for the fresh blood by excreting the used blood...
