| If it is bedbugs, you've probably already brought them home. Hotels
are notorious for having bedbugs.
Of course, I'd first suggest hiring a professional to take a look and
see if they can find the bedbugs or another source of the bites. They
are trained to look for this sort of thing.
If you'd like to check for yourself before you call someone, purchase
some of those sticky mouse traps. Place them under your bed against
the wall on both sides of the legs. While bedbugs don't normally walk
along walls, you may get lucky and find one for sure, or you may find
ants or another pest.
It could also be kissing bugs, though. They hide during the day just
like begbugs and can deliver bites as well.
Look for small blood spots on your sheets, pajamas, pillows and around
light sockets and pictures you may have on your wall. Also, check the
piping around the edge of the mattress (if you don't know what piping
is, ask a girl). You may find the insects or their droppings which
look like little scabs.
If you do have bedbugs, fighting them yourself can be very tough.
You'll need a way to stop the already-laid eggs from hatching and
producing more fertile adults.
A professional will recommend you vacuum your mattress, box-springs
(after tearing-off the cheesecloth), and washing all the bedding and
pillows. They will then use either a dust or liquid treatment for them
and will apply an Insect Growth Regulator, which will prevent the
moulting of the young and will steralize the females to stop the
reproduction process. How much it costs depends on the company and the
intensity of the infestation.
Hope this helps... but it really does sound like bedbugs.
