how to get rid of kissing bugs(?)

| I live in the high desert, around 4600'. I have been waking up with
small raw spots, around 1/8" in size, sometimes paired, usually on my
arms, hands, occasionally on my back. Sometimes a little dried blood
on the lesion, sometimes not. Sometimes a little irritated and itchy
for a few days. Never any evidence of blood on sheets or bedclothes.
Never felt a bite in progess and never seen or caught the perpetrator.
I called the pest control guy and specifically mentioned kissing bugs.
He didn't seem to understand what they were(!) which is astounding
'cause they are known to infest this area. He came by and looked and
poked around and assured me I had no **bedbugs**! So, mebbe y'all can
help me. (1) How to catch it? I saw a reference to glue traps or
boards - anyone have any idea if this would catch a kissing bug or
whatever? (2) How to eliminate it? Do I have to insecticide the entire
house? With what? If I use Drione dust around my bedding area that
seems to stop the attacks, but I have to keep it up (yes, I am careful
to use a mask until the dust settles). Help appreciated.

| Also, just read the prior post - the most recent bite I got was on the
back of my hand near the wrist. I sleep on my back in a recliner, with
my palms downward, and I am quite sure the bitten area was not against
my body. Also, previous bites have been of the outside of my bicep or
the top of my forearm. So it sounds like these bites are not bedbugs.

They are attracted to light. lace a small lamp on the floor and then
place some "sticky traps" in the light. They usually are in rodent or
bird nests in the house (attic or crawl space) so a nest removal project
could be in order. You might look between your mattress, they will hide
there.

Bedbugs are easy to identify and find. I'm not familiar with the
Kissing Bug but found this:

A few large (rat) glue traps should be able to capture whatever is
biting you for an ID.

| It might be the _number_ of glue traps you have out. If you have a
room 13x20 I'd put at least 10 traps in there. 20 if you really really
realy wanna catch the bug.
