| Grubs: When it comes to lawn or garden grubs, there is a natural remedy
called milky spore. The granules are spread on the soil and cause the grubs
to contract a disease that kills them. This natural control affects only the
grubs, leaving the beneficial organisms unharmed. Milky spore multiplies
over time and will sit inactive, waiting for grubs to infect. One treatment
is said to last 40 years. The grubs are actually the larvae of Japanese
beetles. So, when you kill the grubs you kill the beetle.

If you are going to give information here at least give the full information
not half information.
Milky Spore is a good product that can be used against grubs and is best
used in late September or early October when the pH level in the soil is
between 6 and 7. Forty years, I don't know about that but yes it will last
for a few years. It is sold in gardening shope under the trade name of
DoomŪ, JapidemicŪ, or Milky Spore. Also Milky Spore is a bacteria which
produces a disease in which the grubs will ingest and then the spores will
germinate inside the grubs causing them to die. It is also well known that
if you are having a widespread problem with grubs that Milky Spore is not
recommended because it is slow acting and will take a long time to get the
grubs under control. If an active infestation is in place Milky Spore should
be used in conjunction with a chemical treatment to get the grubs under
control for quick knockdown purposes, then allow the Milky Spore do it's
job.
