Hi,
is the UV light pest control safe to human? In particular is the UV
light produced by the pest control product safe to human eyes and skin?

regards,
Rommy

Never heard of UV light pest control. I suppose it would work for
manufacturing plants... but I'm not even sure what bugs it would kill.

UV light is usually used to attract flying insects to traps. Its safe
so long as the voltage of light is low enough... what level of wattage
is safe, I don't know.

So, if you're talking about a "light trap" in which is an ultraviolet
bulb, then just don't get stuck in the glue board or touch the trap if
it's one of those "zap-traps".

If you're not talking about light traps, please let us know what you
mean.

Thanks for the reply.
What I mean is the UV light bulb with electrical grid. The UV light
attracts all kind of bugs such as flies and mosquitoes. The electrical
grid kills them with the electricity. The model that I've seen consumes
power from 4 w, 20 w to 40 w.

If you are wanting the zapper for mainly mosquitos, save your money. UV
lights will attract mosquitos from a far but will then pin point to
carbon dioxide (you). Of the insects "zapped" usually less than 1% will
be mosquito and main victims will be pollinators, moths of different
types.

It is said that the early bird gets the worm,
but it is the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Yes it is - at least for the units sold in Europe. Wattage, energy
ourput and UV wavelength all are on the safe side, no risk of skin
cancer or whatever.

Cheers, Uli
