| I was working in rearranging my attic storage yesterday and I found
some silverfish. Not a zillion, but 6 - 8 small to large in any
cardboard box that had books and papers in it and a few scuttling
around the floor. I'm surprised they can live up there, It's hot and
dry and over 80 degrees even on cool Summer nights and well over 100
most days - but there they were.
Is there some way to kill these with a bait ? The attic is really
inaccessible, open fiberglass in most areas, and not really the sort
of place you can spray.
Thanks,

You should be able to purchase from a do-it-yourself type pest control
store or from a pest control supply house or even the web a product
called Nyban which is supposed to be effective bait for them. There is
also a silverfish bait from protek (I think that's the one) that can be
found at same places along with placing pest strips in the attic. I
have stopped calls from several homes with chronic silver fish/firebrat
call backs by placing a Pro Zap pest strip in the attic storage area and
have never had any complaints of any odor coming into the living area.

You probably found Firebrats, a cousin of the silverfish. No pest
strips will work to eliminate them.

| Lil' Bugger is a hanging insect strip which slowly "fogs" enclosed
non-living areas and lasts several months in cool weather. It might be
worth getting one. Read the label before you buy one though just to
make sure the label allows use in attics. I haven't used one in a
while but we use them for bees to help prevent re-infestation.

| Thanks all, I will check some of these solutions out and try the one
that looks best for my application.
