Bug ID needed from description plz!

Ok, found in a pet store. Probably brought in with dog food... maybe
hamster, gerbil, bird... some kind of food.

Beetle is 1cm long. Very shiny green exoskeleton and wing covers.
3-segmented clubbed antennae. No larvae found. No striations or pits
on wing covers.

Asked them what they were, but the ones brought to me were dead, so
they couldn't answer.

Not enough information. Is this an infestation or a random finding? This
does not sound like anything normally infesting foodstuff or a store product
pest. Without evidence of larvae it most likely is not an infestation
rather the poor guy found his way in from outside.

Doesn't sound like any of the usual suspects.
Shiny green. Metallic?
Most probably a Chysomelid beetle, they tend to show shiny metallic
hues, blue or greenish.
I'd say "no pest", forget it.
