Author DIY Rat bait staion around house perimeter.

I used a clear plastic water bottle about 1 quart size.

Cut off the bottom.

Wired a Bell Labs Ditrac bait and pulled the wire through a hole in the
screw on cap.

Is there a better design for a homemade bait station that would look
better than a bottle up against the side of my house?

I'd be afraid dogs-possums-raccons could get into it...maybe stack some
bricks/logs around it.

I spoke to a 'Pro'. He said that he uses a piece of PVC, closed at
one end, baited, and with Ditrac powder for the rat to walk on.
Problem is, I don't know where to buy the powder.

BTW I also built a homemade rat zapper using a Horse electric fence
controller and a quart milk container. No zaps in 1 night.

Thanks for your suggestion.

The powder is Restricted Use only. Nothing against you personally but
I'd rather you not have the powder. The PVC is a common usage. As lar
wrote, the plastic bottle seems awfully easy for dogs to get through.

Yow! I hope the dogs don't get to that either!
