Homeowner applied termite treatment

| Can a homeowner treat their own home for termites using Agent Orange.
I am putting a new roof on my house and want to know if it is possible
to do an adequate fumigation job without a termite company.

| This inquiry is itself proof positive that there is a legitimate place for
the professional pest control operator. :-0

I could not agree with you more.
To the original poster, have you read the label on Agent Orange, more so
have you read the MSDS sheet on it.
If you actually do have some Agent Orange please contact the EPA and ask
them how you are supposed to dispose of it.

I thought it was a legitimate question and the answer is that the better
termite control agents are not available to the homeowner. "Agent
Orange" part of question may have been facetious.
Personally I'm trained as a chemist and can handle any toxic material as
well as any pesticide worker but these materials are not available to me.

| Wow... agent orange??! If you're being serious, know that agent
orange is a defoliant. It's made to knock the leaves off of trees,
bushes, shrubs, just about any plant life. It may kill some termites
but you'll develop cancer as well if you live through it.
If you aren't talking about agent orange, no, you cannot fume your
home yourself. It takes special equipment, experience and fumigants
to do the job. If you could find the items on the black market and
manage not to kill yourself, your neighbors, pets and the state police
in the process you'd still be out several thousand dollars.
Let a professional pest control company do it and you'll not only save
money but time and life.
