I have a screen enclosure and it has spiders everywhere. They seem to be
taking over my screened in area. Is there any way to rid of them? The
spider is pretty small, less than the size of a penny, with a red/orange
belly. They have lots of web in every corner and along the aluminum
framework are those small "pods" hanging down.

Location is Miami, Florida.

Thanks in advance,

MC

Clean away all webs you find, check the lighting conditions around your
house. Also you can use a wettable Powder to spray in the areas where you
are having problems.

Look for spots on the outside where insects such as moths and other flying
insects tend to gather, Take not of the lighting and make any changes
needed. You may need to turn the light off or use a sodium vapor bulb in
them. Spiders are not attracted to the light they are attracted to the other
insects that are attracted to the light.

Good Luck

Have your yard sprayed by a professional pest control company.
Typically theyll use cypermethrin and permethrin for spiders, as its a
good one two knockdown.

The area that are infested are actually outdoor.

It's hard to explain, but the house is a wrap around structure, meaning the
middle is a courtyard with a pool, and all around this courtyard is the
house. Over the courtyard is an screen enclosure attached to the roof
system.

So the courtyard is screened in, so that no insects can go in or come out.
See this image:

Now the spiders are creating the web inside the courtyard along the aluminum
framing members of the screen enclosure. In each corner, along the frame
and the screen. How they come inside is anyone's guess, as those screens
are supposed to be "no-seeum" screens.

The house is vacant since I am remodeling it, and there are people working
in it but no one stays there at night so during the night time all lights
are off, so it is unlikely they come because of any lights as there are no
lights.

The type of spider I did some search and it looks like this one:

the spiny backed orb weaver.

Along the framing members I see the web and dangling on the web are a lot of
greenish pod looking things. Are those spider nest or cocoons?
