Gawd your an early riser, Steve.
Give it a bit, man.....your main clues being "tfd" and "single phase"....

Meanwhile, I got this link a couple days ago, the individual is getting
out--and has quite a few overstock compressors for sale.
http://overstockhvac.com/compressors.htm
BTW, if anyone has a ZR40K3-pfv-xxx spare then I could use one.
Cheers,

When you know it can always be worse, it never seems that bad.
When you appreciate what you have, you have a lot more.

And the 'single phase' compressor he's 'throwing in' is in fact another 3

| I don't understand why something like this can be listed on EBay in the
first place. As the guy listing it says: It can kill you, and then he
targets the sale at non hvac people.
They don't let you sell guns, or even anything that looks like it might
have once been a bullet, but you can buy equipment that can easily kill
you?
I guess it's a hard line to draw, as almost anything you buy on Ebay
could cause harm. But this seems like it should be an exception, that
the guy should require some proof of a licensed contractor purchasing
it. Especially when in his own words he basically says "buy it but
don't touch it".
But then again, I guess you can buy similar things at the big box
outlets.

I've NEVER understood these people who keep bidding and
bidding against each other, or other bidders that showup.
Why in the world would you not wait until the last minute and
THEN bid ? All you do before then is challenge others to bid higher
than you, and give them time to do it.

I gotta admit I have actually purchased new/surplus cosmetically damaged
equipment (not HVAC equipment) from this seller, and have always been
pleased with it.
If you do commercial work, his ebay store is worth a look from time-to-time.

Usually, I place my one and only bid within 4 ~ 6 seconds of the auction
end....and sometimes someone else will have outbid me only seconds prior,
and so my bid is rejected with no time to place another....but I'm generally
fine with that.
Just don't underestimate the effect of putting several hundreds onto the
table at the end when everyone else has been waving ten-spots around--this
being the situation where you have an immediate and critical need for the
item and where if you don't win it at auction the you're gonna have to pay
full price for it instead.

| I do the same with Auction Sentry. When I see something I'd like to
get note the auction and tell AS what the max I'm willing to go is.
Then it throws the bid in in the last 10 seconds. If I get it, great.
If it goes for more, oh well, I wasn't willing to pay that much.

but dont you just hate it when the other bidders are also using Auction Sentry
and the winning bid is just one dollar higher than yours?
I'm seeing a lot of items that list at $6 or less end up selling for $150-$250,
with all bidding done in the last 10-20 seconds using proxy bidders
| |
| Steve Scott 2005-10-25, 11:21 pm |
| Nah. I put the bid as high as I want to go and that's it. AS puts
the bid in so late I don't have time to change my mind. That's a good
thing.
I did pick up a new Bacharach IR printer today for $140 delivered.
It'll go along nicely with the new Bacharach FP 125 I got a couple of
months back for around $550 delivered.
