| Last night I went over to one of my wifes friends house to clean and
start there furnace in a home they had bought over the summer. Holy
shit what a fucking piece of shit this furnace is. I dont know when
the last time was that this thing ran and I assume its been a while
from the mound of match sticks laying in it from lighting the pilot.
I asked her if the inspector inspected the furnace. She said yes. I
asked what did he inspect it for? To see if there was one? There is
no way he even looked at this pile other than to verifiy that there was
one in the house. I want this guys number so I can call him and give
him the What fors. This kind of crap really pisses me off. How can
these guys justify charging money for an inspection when they dont
inspect?
Looking around i noticed the LP water heater was piped off the main gas
line in copper, the previous HO's converted a wood fireplace to LP and
did a nice clean job of piping it with a flex line and a sledge hammer
to blast a hole through the cinder block wall. They have/had some kind
of kimshie wood burner rigged up in the basement that was scabbed into
the return duct that is dismanteled which will be hauled out next week
by me when I install a nice new and SAFE furnace, clean up the gas
lines and dismantle the HO hacked in bullshit.
These fucking people that try and save a few bucks doing this kind of
shit should be shot. Yeah its not rocket science but Jesus H. Christ
if you dumb XXX Ho's dont know WTF you are doing (and you dont)then
leave it to someone who does! You are going to kill someone! There is
more to this then the average HO can imagine and they DONT know what
they are looking at to know if its right or not. That is where the
experiance comes in. Knowing what to look for and knowing what is out
of place.
Well I just had to rant a bit about this because it pisses me off big
time and Im glad as hell I dont have to deal with these cheap XXX sob
HO's. I feel sorry for the residential guys who do have top put up
with this kind of shit. Out here in farm country I think its worse
because these slobs think they can fix anything. Well ive got news for
them. THEY CANT!
I dont have problem with someone trying to save a few bucks but fuck
me running, when you are in so far over your head and fucking around
cluelessly with gas or oil fired equipment you fucking HOs are flirting
with diasater!
Sorry but it just pisses me off when I see this kind of hackery and I
cant wait till she digs up that inspectors number. If he has to be
licenced Im going to do everything I can to get it pulled!

I do not know about your state but in Arizona the "home infectors" are not
liable for anything that they missed or failed to report. Forget get
calling the infector call a TV station that does consumer news. Publish the
fucks name and company on a TV report.
I tend to go overboard get your friend to do something other than calling
the infector

hey not a bad idea. because i'd like my inspection done by the woman
that cuts my hair. and yes, the extra tip's because she rarely wears a bra.
not everyone can know all aspects of each individual home.
so to make that inspection effective, why not simply ask for service
records or advise them to have a heating technician give it their blessing?
unfortunately you don't hafta be smart to be a rocket scientist....
....heating guy
....home inspector
....home-moaner
....on and on
there's a lotta but crack showing technicians in my neighborhood.
fortunately some are being weeded out. lack of money in a trade does
that to the industry.
have a swell day.

Infector, I like that term. He (they) need(s) to be on dateline.

If your going to be a so called home inspector then you had better have
some kind of understanding of all the trades and how things work.
Especially the important ones like electrical, mechanical, plumbling,
roofing and so on. If they dont have enough of a clue to comprehend
that a sooted furnace is a red flag they dont belong as an inspector.
Aspects of has nothing to do with it.
How much longer do we have to endure your fucked up shit?

metal duct system as well......

| We see this several times a year. Existing home. New buyer. Home
inspected. Calls for a furnace service. Hx shot. Generally very
obviously. Saw one last week with probably an 1" pile of rust that's
fallen out of the vent. Seems like that might be a clue there's
something going on...and it wasn't regular service.
