| I've got a Weather King up here in Wisconsin. I had it installed two
years ago. I usually keep the heating at about 66.
I've never timed it, but it seems to turn on and off more often than my
20 year old furnace it replaced.
I always thought furnaces were more efficient when they stay on for
longer periods of time and then stay off for longer periods of
time...hence the benefit of a variable speed system.
Obviously this is a pretty new furnace. I've seen a huge decrease in
my gas comsumption since getting the new unit, but I'm wondering if it
is normal that it turns on and off more often.
The heated air also comes out of the vents louder than with the old
unit.
Thanks for any opinions.

| Is the furnace properly sized?
Most new furnaces move more air than a similarly sized old furnace.
The result can be more noise if the duct system isn't up to snuff for
the higher air flow. And the air is usually cooler than the supply
air from an older furnace.
