alt.hvac is an un-moderate open public forum about the discussion of
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning. (HVAC).
This forum is available to post, read and participate by any and all
individuals, groups, homeowners, renters, maintenance personal and
professionals of the industry.
This forum has no charter and no charter members or author(s).
WHAT ALT.HVAC IS NOT

1. Alt.hvac is not an organization.
No person or group has authority over Alt.hvac as a whole. No one
controls who gets a news feed, which articles are propagated
where, who can post articles, or anything else. There is no
"Alt.hvac Incorporated," nor is there a "Alt.hvac User's Group."
You're on your own.
2. Alt.hvac is not a democracy.
Since there is no person or group in charge of Alt.hvac as a whole
-- i.e. there is no Alt.hvac "government" -- it follows that
alt.hvac cannot be a democracy, autocracy, or any other kind of "-
acy."
3. Alt.hvac is not fair.
After all, who shall decide what's fair? For that matter, if
someone is behaving unfairly, who's going to stop him? Neither
you nor I, that's certain.
4. Alt.hvac is not a right.
Some people misunderstand their local right of "freedom of speech"
to mean that they have a legal right to use others' computers to
say what they wish in whatever way they wish, and the owners of
said computers have no right to stop them.
Those people are wrong. Freedom of speech also means freedom not
to speak. If I choose not to use my computer to aid your speech,
that is my right. Freedom of the press belongs to those who own
one.
5. Alt.hvac is not an advertising medium.
CONTROL

There is no single person(s) group or organization that controls this
forum/group. No one has any real control over any site but his own.
There is NO administrator or entity over alt.hvac. The only control is over
you own words. Please respect the opinion of others postings and ideas.
ALT.HVAC AS SOCIETY

Those who have never tried electronic communication may not be aware
of what a "social skill" really is. One social skill that must be
learned, is that other people have points of view that are not only
different, but *threatening*, to your own. In turn, your opinions
may be threatening to others. There is nothing wrong with this.
Your beliefs need not be hidden behind a facade, as happens with
face-to-face conversation. Not everybody in the world is a bosom
buddy, but you can still have a meaningful conversation with them.
The person who cannot do this lacks in social skills.

Mr. Turtle, thank you for the postive question.
The alt.hvac FAQ is a daily post.
There are many new individuals that stumble/find this group on a daily basis
and the FAQ must be available to their news server freshly.
This ensures that they are able to find & read the FAQ accordingly and they
understand the guidlines and are not turned away, since this forum is open
to ALL.
althvacfaq, does not directly read this group and is a collective group
recently formed.
Your post was directed to me, by the collective. Your history was scanned
and found to be one of the helpfull individuals on this group (thank you).
We suggest your review alt.hvac FAQ v1.2.6. Your positive comments may be of
value.
If you dislike the daily post, the collective suggested to use your kill
file. However you will miss out on the updates and kill file list as it
starts to build.

Suggest instead only post it weekly.....and also change the subject line to
reflect posting date--otherwise, it's all gonna end up at the bottom of the

decide when / if / why / how / where ANYONE gets turned away.FROM ANY ALT.

individual contributer, then it's their OWN personal decision...and hence,

Suggest just killfile <FAQ@althvacfaq.org> as anyone that's been around
usenet for more than a couple of days should already have the vast majority
of what's currently being posted by him pretty much down pat anyways.

Yes , your words speak the truth but when you have a newsgroup with 4
Residentiual Troll in it everyday already. Then when a fellow like this
comes along , you see a flame war for the right to stand as the king of
the hill begins. the 4 trolles [ PBSC team ] has to defend the king of
the hill title from people like this type that post here. if they would
just let it go, there would be a bunch of home owners come in and take
over. The PBSC Team must defend the possion.

There was a old Fur Trapper in the Swamps of Louisiana that when he got
up in the morning at 4:00 A.M. . He would take his cup of coffee and
dip his plug of chewing tobacco in it and then drink the coffee. then
he would put the plug of tabacco in his mouth. A fellow ask him one day
Whay do you do that and he said I don't know but i have just done that
all my life and just do it.
Also i tried to stop it about 10 years ago here and for some reason it
failed.
So here is your answer !
