| This FAQ was cross posted alt.home.repair as an invitation to come over to
visit alt.hvac and address any of your question regarding your home
heat/cool system.
Alt.hvac is an "open to all" forum as indicated below in the FAQ.
Please feel free to post your question openly. You may get 1, maybe 2
individuals asking you not to post there. Just ignore the ignorant. There
are many professionals on the forum that would be glad to assist you.

We have created a kill file/filter list at the begining on the FAQ for those
that requested this. This file will most likely be a seperate list in the
future.

FAQ
alt.hvac is an un-moderate open public forum about the discussion of
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning. (HVAC).
This forum is available to post, read and participate by any and all
individuals, groups, homeowners, renters, maintenance personal and
professionals of the industry.
There will always be individuals that flame or tell you to post in other
newsgroups if they feel you don't fit "their" profile.
These are only a handful of anti social individuals that do not have the
ability to interact with others skillfully and socially. They do not
represent the group as a whole. Just as in real life, ignore these
individuals and their request/antics and continue with your postings.
Easier yet is just kill file them.
Other's in this group will gladly assist you.
This forum has no charter and no charter members or author(s).
WHAT ALT.HVAC IS NOT

1. Alt.hvac is not an organization.
No person or group has authority over alt.hvac as a whole. No one
controls who gets a news feed, which articles are propagated
where, who can post articles, or anything else. There is no
"Alt.hvac Incorporated," nor is there a "Alt.hvac User's Group."
You're on your own.
2. Alt.hvac is not a democracy.
Since there is no person or group in charge of Alt.hvac as a whole
-- i.e. there is no Alt.hvac "government" -- it follows that
alt.hvac cannot be a democracy, autocracy, or any other kind of "-
acy."
3. Alt.hvac is not fair.
After all, who shall decide what's fair? For that matter, if
someone is behaving unfairly, who's going to stop him? Neither
you nor I, that's certain.
4. Alt.hvac is not a right.
Some people misunderstand their local right of "freedom of speech"
to mean that they have a legal right to use others' computers to
say what they wish in whatever way they wish, and the owners of
said computers have no right to stop them.
Those people are wrong. Freedom of speech also means freedom not
to speak. If I choose not to use my computer to aid your speech,
that is my right. Freedom of the press belongs to those who own
one.
5. Alt.hvac is not an advertising medium.
CONTROL

There is no single person(s) group or organization that controls this
forum/group. No one has any real control over any site but his own.
There is NO administrator or entity over alt.hvac. The only control is over
you own words. Please respect the opinion of others postings and ideas.
ALT.HVAC AS SOCIETY

Those who have never tried electronic communication may not be aware
of what a "social skill" really is. One social skill that must be
learned, is that other people have points of view that are not only
different, but *threatening*, to your own. In turn, your opinions
may be threatening to others. There is nothing wrong with this.
Your beliefs need not be hidden behind a facade, as happens with
face-to-face conversation. Not everybody in the world is a bosom
buddy, but you can still have a meaningful conversation with them.
The person who cannot do this lacks in social skills.

newsgroup forum. All positive input will be reviewed and considered.
Comments/suggestions are also reviewed for the alt.hvac FAQ.
If you wish your name be compiled and published for you positive
contribution of future revisions of the alt.hvac please advise us. Your
name will be added to this FAQ. A valid email is required.
Kill file:
Anti social individuals, flamers or those making threating posting to this
news group, will be compiled into a kill file/filter list which will be
updated on a regular basis and added to this FAQ.
If you feel an individual meets the above criteria, please forward copies of
the messages or message ID., for consideration to add to the kill
file/filter list.

LOL PJ spits out "internet abuser" with such disdain. I guess its ok
when he abuses it. He also hasnt figured out that he is the root of
all the problems in alt.hvac. But I guess as long as he can spam his
software (his only reason for being) its ok.
