One of my two split heat pumps is a Marvair Handler/Amana Condenser.
The Marvair is probably at least 25 years old and has a leaky rusted
bottom which drips water on very humid days. I guess the pan is rusted
out. The problem was probably caused by an unnecessarily long
condensate drain line, installed without a trap. The Amana is around 15
yrs old and crappy looking but the system is still cooling well, my
electric bill could be lower, but it's not real high. Can I fix my pan,
should I try to, should I wait till it dies? I am having to vacuum out
the condensate line on hot days to help the leak..
