HVACR. If so, to what? Been in the field for many years but getting burned
out. Don't have any major brainstorms but would appreciate any insight.

| Be a consultant? Change from driving the truck to managing the company. That
comes to mind.
Actually, I'm starting in HVAC. For me, it's still a pleasure to get a
system piped in, and see the looks on peoples faces when clouds of smoke
^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^ cool air comes pumping out the vents. Or, in the
winter, that might be explosion ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H warm air pumping out the
vents.
What other work do your family members do? Can you get an "in" from the
family doing something else?

| Burn-out is a common problem in just about any trade Clay. Particularly at
this time of the year for us. I would urge you to carefully reconsider any
decision regarding changing your trade. When you are removed or remove
yourself from a trade loop, it is sometimes very difficult to re-establish
yourself in the trade. Employers are skeptical as to why you have a lapse in
trade related employment, if you are honest with them and tell them you were
"burnt out" they will be very hesitant to hire you and if they do they will
be very cautious. You also are removed from the loop with product changes,
improvements, licensing changes, industry advancements and a host of other
things. If you are determined however to make this change the machinery
trades tend to segway themselves well from this trade, particularly if you
are an adept troubleshooter. Many of the control systems in production
machinery at least......plc's, servos, vfd's and things of that nature are
easily adapted to by a competent hvac technician, I knowa few who have made
the transition...with that said I caution you that the machinery trades are
far from stressless and I have seen many many machinery tech's burn out
after a very short period of time. Hope something I have responded with will
provide food for thought for you....good luck.

The way you insert self deprication into your comments is so funny!
It's almost like you think that if you joke about the danger you put

Well it wont make everything OK.

| "Hey, do you post useful information, or just criticize? "
Criticizing you DOES provide useful information!
Except... I don't criticize you.
In order to criticize you, you would have to post something that
merited critical review.
You can't do that, because you don't know what you are doing.
And so, I simply use the information you provide to demonstrate to
anyone who cares to read it, that you are incompetent, and that for
some reason you enjoy putting families and firemen at great risk.
It's my hope that in doing this, along with other people in this group
who are actively documenting and reporting your activities, that
perhaps one day you will be imprisoned and/or fined.
It's nothing against you personally. It's just that you are so
incompetent you can't even see how incompetent you are.
So grab a snickers, Chris. I'm not going anywhere.

Yeah....
What he doesn't seem to grasp is that it's not important if he sees my
words; as he has clearly demonstrated a complete lack of ability to
understand the written word anyway.
I mean, it's not as if I have posted anything new this past week. And
it's not as if you all havn't demonstrated his complete incompetency
time and time again over the years. Why it is that I was chosen for the
supreme priveledge of him 'ignoring me' (wink wink) is anyones guess.
Of course we all know he is still reading all of this. It will be fun
to see how he explains away replying to my comments when he is also
ignoring them.
- Or maybe it will just be sad.
But as I said - it's really not important if he reads this or not, or
if he ever reads another word of mine.
What is important is that _others_ read the words _he_ has written, and
as any child who has had the misfortune to stick a paper clip into an
elctrical outlet can tell you - it's a very bad idea to saw up and cram
a circuit breaker into a panel.
And I'll be here to point others to his own words.
And hopefully his own words will deter others from listening to him. I
know it's hoping for a lot.... but after reading his stories of
mangling a panel and then putting used, mis-sized parts into equipment
he couldn't begin to understand.... hell.... I have to try.
Hows that snickers bar, Chris?

My personal favorite this week was the "I don't test the uf
before I replace the cap...Only after."
That's a fucking doozy.

It always shocks me that someone would want out of the trade that
has been mine for 30+ years. As an installer I was always looking to
learn, as a tech I loved the freedom and the "instant gratification" that
came with each job well done, and as an owner I am enjoying the security
that comes with having built a successful business. It has supported my
5 kids (2 in college now) and my XXXXX ex-wife.
Would you feel less stress in a 6' x 6' cubicle?
That would burn ME out in a day.

I would advise you to look to get out of the field because of two things. 1 you
dislike it 2 there is a whole bunch of other jobs that are better than a hvac /
r service / salesman business.

Do good work.
It's longer in the short run
but shorter in the long run.

Go get yourself one of those high acid filter driers, that
should take care of your burnout. ;> )

This is Turtle.
Sorry but I speak what i think and not what a Salesman would say. Straight
shooters are very rare in the trade but I'm sorry but i'm one of them.
Anthony , i far well know what i was saying and doing !
