| We had purchased Hydro-Sil for our home about 1 year ago, after my Father &
Brother had used Hydro-Sil in their homes. I had to respond to the message
written from "Jake" because we are thrilled with the unit's. The first
thing I noticed was the Energy Star rating, which I inquired about when I
called the company. They told me only the Programmable Thermostat has that
rating, no baseboard unit's have that rating. So we did purchase the
Programmable thermostat, and can see the savings it does provide. They do
show what wattage is being used on the display. We were told they have a
Nickel Chromium element vs. a Calrod element. After reading your email I
did inquire about the UL listing which is under their parent company
Sanford Industries, UL file #54E1- Also the unit's are very safe. We do
have children and we are very comfortable with our children playing around
the unit's. They are heaters so we do use caution. But I know they do not
get hot like our old baseboards. So Jake say what you would like. But we
know from first hand how well they perform. And the savings we have seen.
Especially after Katrina, with the utilities have sky rocketed. So we do
recommend the Hydro-Sil to all our friends. And yes they to are satisfied
with their product.- Jennifer

Actually... the UL file number for Sanford Industries is E86649. It has
not been updated in over 14 years.
Why... WHY IN THE WORLD... would you order one of these units over the
phone or on the internet... without knowing a little bit more about this
company?
Suggest you look here:

You would be amazed at the number we have removed, simply because of the
failure of someone to reply to the existing customers in a timely manner.
Its still baseboard heat, no matter how fancy of a package you put it in.
Poor mans heat is all it is.

| Jake, sounds like you have nothing better to do than criticize other
people's products. By the way you must be a competitor. I checked with the
BBB and they have resolved all of the 13 complaints that the received
within a 3 year period. Considering the volume of sales that they do, that
is very minimal in comparison to the amount of heaters that are sold in a 3
year time frame. I also checked in to the quality of the product as well
and their repair statistic is 0.3 of 1%. Jake, looks like on this one you
have no idea of what you are talking about. Have a good day.
Sincerely,
A very satisfied customer of the Hydrosil Heating Co.

Nothing but another electric zone heater.
Yes, savings can be acheived **IF** you turn unoccupied rooms
way down, and heat only occupied rooms, and do it consistently, 24 /
7. If you forget - goodby savings. This applies to ANY 'per room'
heating device.
As to their statement 'Hyrdorsil..... contiues to heat the
room after the element shuts off' .... yeh, no shit. So does a pot of
water on the stove after you heat it up and then turn the burner off.
If they charge any kind of premium over 'normal' electric
space heaters, they haven't earned it.

Geez, I just looked at their 'discount' pricing vs what I can
get at Lowes !!!!!!
( 3 heart attacks and 2 laughing fits later )
They only want about ( literally ) TEN TIMES what you can get
common ceramic or oil-filled heaters for, that will provide EXACTLY
the same functionality, same heat output, and same useage costs (
assuming equal use ).
Unreal.
Example :
110 V protable 5-HYDROMAX 5' Hydro-Max 750-1500W
$219.00 'discount price ' + $15.00 shipping
http://www.heatersnfans.com/item.asp?int_id=155
Lakewood 5500 oil filled 600 / 900 / 1500 watt portable
$ 30.25
Lowes - too many models to count, from $ 25 on up to < $ 100, all
kinds of variations, same power range - and no 'no return' policy, or
shipping charges !!!!!

You sound more like an employee. I already told you, it's
over-priced bullshit. You can get the same thing at any home
improvement store for 1/5th to 1/10th the price.
