This message was intentionally NOT posted in alt.home.repair

I have absolutely no technical HVAC knowledge.

I have a new home with a York 2 zone heat pump system. The attic unit is all
electric. The downstairs system has LP gas backup(? terminology). It is an
Affinity 9.5 series unit. For this preliminary question I have not recorded
any model / serial numbers.

My question:

Is it possible (or practical) to have a tech adjust the point at which the
downstairs unit switches into LP burning mode?

My last 3 homes had natural gas forced air heating systems with conventional
AC compressor. My wife likes the house VERY warm, and she hates the
"slightly warm" air that flows out of the ducts. We have a 1000 gallon LP
tank that serves a 4 burner cooktop, a direct vent fireplace, and the
downstairs HVAC unit. We have been in the house since April 1, 2005, and the
LP tank is still at close to 60% full. My winter electric bills are running
about the same as in mid summer.

If possible I'd like to utilize the propane heat more than the current setup
does.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to enlighten me on this topic.

What does your local qualified technician say?

We can't see it from here. The crystal ball is not working this week.

I've never seen a system where it wasn't possible to adjust that set point.
The original installer may have set it to the 'economic balance point'. You
want it set to the 'comfort balance point'. (That's the point where your
wife doesn't XXXXX.) Depending on how it's wired, you may be able to bring
on the gas heat manually with the 'Emergency Heat' switch of the thermostat.
Once you find your wife's 'comfort balance point', call a service company
and tell them you want it set at that temp.

Thank you Bob.
It's nice to hear a response from a NON- XXXXXXX.
I know a little more than I did before, I will inquire to the professional
company who designed & installed the system for their assistance.

screw Paul, Bill & Steve and any other ASSWIPES on this site!

just put them in your killfile and it makes alt.hvac very pleasant and
useful again!

to do this in Outlook Express, highlight a response from one of the
assholes, then go to the 'Message' menu and scroll down to 'Block Sender..'

see how much cleaner every thing is now?

consider it a little bleach poured into the alt.hvac toilet!

It's not a site moron. If you're reading it from a site some dipshit is
using a newsgroup as "content".

It was never intended for that. That's how we get some of the clueless
in here.

If only you had a clue. palm springs is but a tiny microcosm to whats
happening all over so cal. if you hurry, maybe you can get in on the
5000 new homes planned for east oc, or the 15,000 scheduled for south
oc

read something interesting in todays paper....OC 's population is
larger than those of 21 US states.

this is Turtle.

For your information Pauly , Outlook Express and yourself was not worth
listen to anymore and decided to not listen to the two of you any more.
Also you and Outlook are two item just got left behind in the internet
world of advancements.

Also when you steal software and just resell it. Don't expect to be the
greatest because everybody was buying it before you stole it.

One very simple question........Why are you such a fucking prick? If
you can't answer the question, then don't bother responding. It's like
