Why indirect tank? Energy savings?

| I don't understand the rationale behind the indirect water heater like a
System2000 my friends sister had installed. How does it save energy/$$$$
I looked at the hype but found out nothing. Enlighten me.

| An indirect water heater gives almost unlimited hot water while still
allowing the boiler high limit to be set lower. You can do that on any
boiler.

Tekkie, In January 2005, PM Engineer Magazine did a comparison
study of the two technologies. The answer is........it depends.
