Wow, I've never seen such hatred and anger in a forum in my life.
|
|
| Ronald Hall 2006-01-13, 1:21 am |
| I've been using usenet for longer than I bet 98% of the people here, I
started with an internet startup many years ago back when a browser was
unknown, and you read your email through command line unix programs. In
these years I've been flamed, flamed others, joked with others, laughed with
others, cried with others.. Throughout that entire time however, I have
never been greated on a usenet newsgroup with the hostility and anger that I
have in this group.
A simple question about a furnace and A/C purchase was responsed to within 4
minutes by "Paul ( pjm @ pobox . com )" with the following message:
QUOTE:
Fucking go away.
Don't even post in alt.home.repair, where you should have
posted this crap.
Just fucking go away.
UNQUOTE.
The subsequent posts included some additional gems like:
"How's about you shove it up your XXX sideways, and stop
bragging about what the bastard incestuous git of you and your mother
is like ?"
and
"Forget the contractors, they are shit for brains no-nothings and low lives.
Buy a same btu furnace from the internet (make sure its goodman, they are
the best!!!) and then install it yourself.
Call back the morons who priced it in the first place and show em what a
real man is capable of."
Interlaced with those responses were a couple of people who actually tried
to be helpful, but they were outweighed by the jackasses of this group. If
the attitude of the HVAC people in this group are any indication of the
level of maturity, craftsmanship, and honesty I can expect from your average
HVAC contractor, I am in some SERIOUS trouble..
I'll leave your precious group, because apparently an informed consumer and
competition among contractors is frowned upon by the majority of this group.
It takes a lot to shock me, I've been around the internet so long and seen
so many idiots that I rarely let it bug me, but the speed and intensity of
the anger I have seen in this group has made me believe that I am better off
asking the people on a Linux support forum for help than I am here. In less
than 4 minutes my hopes for an honest discussion about my purchase were
dashed with vulgar personal attacks, and in 10 hours time I have given up
any hope that I will get answers here.
I apologize to those who are truly here to help, to share stories, or to
just hang out. Unfortunately the bad seem to outweigh the good.. I wish you
guys luck, I'll try to find help elsewhere.

Yup...thats Paul for you...I think the reason he says this is because he
doesn't know the answers....when people who aren't in the business know more
than he does...he gets a little cranky.

Nope.
He's a bit cranky sometimes--not anymore your busiiness than its of mine as
to when or why that may be.
He chooses to be cranky on usenet, when and where it fucking suits him--and
that's absolutely none of your goddamned business, you fucking dickwad.
Screw you....and while your at it--buttfuck that lame goat you rode in on,
too--your an utter imbecile if you havent the moral fortitude to fucking
excercie the same liberty as he does, or if (worse yet ) you possess some
dark desire to censure others because of your own personal preferance.

| Well, thats paul.
He has serious problems.
Just filter hm, and he other half dozen cretins on here, and you will get
some answers.
Indeed, one fellow has a weekly posting of cretins to put in your kill
file. paul of course leads the list. A good service.
paul may soon be finding out about the effect of some federal legislation
regarding nternet abuse which Bush signed Wednesday.

Ronald, don't leave the group, just anytime you see anger or vitriol in this
group, just take 2 seconds to add to your killfile
once I had added about 6 scumbags to my killfile, all of a sudden the
alt.hvac group became very helpful and pleasant
if you are as seasoned as you say, then you know that killfiling a handful
of folks takes literally seconds, so please consider this very simple
solution!
g'day, mate!

And the first time someone sues someone else that law will get thrown
out. Why? because their is no such thing as anonimity on the internet.
Sure, you can use all the fake names and remailers you want, but if
the feds want to find out who you really are your post can be traced.

And somehow you STILL can figure how to post IN THE

Poor baby.
[color=darkred]
The attitude of HVAC people here is 'We not are here in this
forum to stand by, ready to hand out free advice to every XXXXXXX who
comes wandering along'. If you can't get a hanlde on that, you ARE
inserious trouble, in life in general.
[color=darkred]
Assholes looking for free advice, and getting pissy about it
when someone tells them they're in the wrong forum, we don't need.
[color=darkred]
Exactly. Go fucking as the idiots who are too cheap to PAY
for the OS and programs they use, they figure everythign in the world
should be free for them, even if it sucks.

No, that is the attitude of you and maybe 2 or 3 other jerks....the rest of
the credible HVAC techs in here are decent people.
>
> Assholes looking for free advice, and getting pissy about it

Nobody gets "pissy" about free advice...only annoyed at people like you who
seem threatened any time someone asks a simple question.
You get pissy all the time when someone asks a question....tell me...what
kind of lousy life do you have to have nothing better to do then repeatedly
wait for the chance to jump in and say, "post this in alt.home.repair, not
here"?
Pretty pathetic. I know you don't like the fact knowing that some people
not in the business know something about your business, don't hate them cuz
you aren't as smart as you think you are.

See and there is your ignorance....for example...when I asked about a heat
pump question...I was just curious...I already had a tech scheduled to come
out....wasn't looking to repair anything myself...and never will when it
comes to that.

This is 100% correct.
Look how long Carnivore has been around. Since its inception, there
has been much over the constitutionality of its unwarranted and
generalized use. Other technologies/methodologies in cyber-forebsics
have encountered similar legal hurdles.
Unless you are sharing blatantly illegal content such as spam, warez,
child porn, or pirated DVD movies, etc... you are VERY unlikely to

Ah, but yet you just can't seem to keep yourself from responding...face
it...I own you. Truth hurts and you know you don't know shit about hvac and
the "home-moaners" in here know more than you.

This is Turtle.
His problem is , unlike you , that he can read and has read the FAQ
that your suppost to have written and it says that alt.hvac newsgroup
is the right place to discuss hvac problems of home owners. Never
expect a person to understand a idiot after they have a education. Paul
when are you going to get a education ?

| This is Turtle.
It is not as simple as that. When you have a low life like Paul liing
to anybody who comes through the door about how thing are suppose to be
done in the group and projecting himself as a leader or spockman of the
group. Also speaking to any new or old member of the group he feel that
should leave the group in a very disrespectful way to get then out of
his way of control of the group. He will call anybody he does not like
and will speak Vulgarity to them to get them to leave because if you
call a respectiable person these words enough , he will leave because
of not wanting to get this Stench on them also. Paul uses this theory
to rule as he please because of his ability to become vulgar on a
minutes notice and no one will say a word about it.
The saddist thing i have seen in years is how low paul has brought the
alt.hvac newsgroup into a flame and hatred group, but the point is the
regular members have followed him into it. Sad but True !
God Help You Paul and Minions !
