The newest Mr. Slim mini split a/c system
http://www.mrslim.com/Products/item...7&ProductID=997
using the MXZ30TN condenser is rated close to 30,000 BTU and can be split
btw up to 3 zones. I've seen 9+9+9 listings (9,000 BTUs sent to each of 3
units) and 9+9+12, but I have also seen reference to 9+9+15 and 9+9+9+9
systems. This confuses me as a 9+9+15 system would be 33,000 BTU, does Mr.
Slim alow this type of configuration? does it just mean that you can't max
out all 3 zomes at teh same time? And what about the 9+9+9+9 configuration?
aside from overworking the Conpresser, how does one attach 4 indise units to
one MXZ30TN?

Are there references just mistakes, or are people doing creative things?

Its not one compressor for all of the zones. Its separate compressors
and refrigeration circuits per zone housed in one cabinet.

I understand that, but if there are only 3 units inside of the compresser
box, how do you attach 4 evaporators to it?

I'm not trying to pry out deep installer secrets, I just want to know if
this can really be done using just one compressor. I don't have an
installer yet, we are not up to that. We are still planning a big renovation
of which the A/C will be a small part. My architect doesn't think you can do
these configuration and that we should plan on another approach. I just want
to know if this is the case or if it can be done, and safely, with th right
installer.

Likely a variable displacement compressor and / or some other means of
volumetric control being utilized.

Very nice. About time someone put a frequency drive on a residential
type rotary. Which of course is the answer for the OP as to why one
compressor can supply 3 evap coils on a ductless unit.
