York I.G.V. Parts Problem
|
|
| Canucklehead 2006-03-20, 8:21 pm |
| Gentlemen,
I have a customer who has a York Y14DC05E2CANBBC unit on his roof.
This is a cooling-only system with 4 scroll compressors and
economizer. The blower has inlet guide vanes.
Each guide vane has a little crank arm on the end. Each crank arm
fits in a hole in a circular ring. The circular ring is made to turn
by a motorized actuator. Each hole in the ring has a teflon (or maybe
nylon) insert which prevents metal-to-metal contact between the ring
and the little crank arms.
My problem is that these teflon (or maybe nylon) inserts are wearing
out and some have worn through. OK, it's not my problem, it's the
customer's problem.
My problem is that the manufacturer hasn't been able to locate the
inserts in their system. I have seen the parts drawing for the
blower and nothing in the inlet guide vane assembly is itemized.
Help! Where can I get these inserts and the locking washers that
accompany them? Do I have to replace some major parts in the guide
vane assembly for the sake of these inserts?

Whats the model and serial number on the eco?
Might be York, might not be..and since, you have to spec out the eco, its
not something that your parts guy can go..oh..yea..we got those.
But....if you get the model and serial off the eco...you can get the
inserts.....

I told you "all that" in order to make it more difficult for some
people to take my question and turn it into something that it is not
and then make up a "funny" response.
The unit is not "out of date". There's nothing at all wrong with it,
except the inserts. Tthere's never even been a leak.
The inlet guide vane assembly and the economizer are separate
assemblies. As I said, I have been to York and looked at the drawings
myself.

Excuse me? I am a licensed qualified HVAC technician but what I am
not is a parts supplier. I am sorry if my simplistic description of
the problem bored or offended you. But as I told another person who
responded, I wrote that lengthy description so that it would be
difficult for some people to twist it around into something different
and then make a joke about the new meaning. Obviously you were unable
to do that so you insulted me personally. What's your problem?

Hummm....
Its not even offered now..thats called..out of date...I mean, when YorkNet
says OBSOLETE, its out of date jackass.
Sorry.

Wow..I looked the units up last night on YorkNet and in the Spec Engineers
Kit, AND in VIP, and I stand by what I told you, since there are indeed part
numbers that can be had for what you are looking for. I guess you either
didnt know where to look, or you lied.
Its also obvious you have never spec'd out one of these, or you would know
how the kits come.
Funny thing is, depending on the model again, (sigh..hes gonna start some
shit about how its not needed to know) we prob have what you are looking
for...comes in a nice white box, says SourceONE on the side in blue....tell
your supplier to go look again and see if hes got a clue.

Actually, I dont have a problem. My furnace works just fine. So do all
the ones I service. It seems you are the one with the problem.
If you are a licensed technician, you might want to get some training.
Your description was weak...........very weak. I was waiting for terms
from you like "thing-a-muh-bob and doo-hickey valve".
Google searches can be quite rewarding. Sorry you are having such a
tough time.

HA HA HA!!! He says he is a technician but he doesn't even know the correct
terminology for the equipment he purports to work on?!??!
Where did he go to school: in the Hillbilly Technical Academy?
"Yea, boss, I need a new thing-a-ma-jig for the boober-ma-hopper dealy."
Sounds like a qualified Tech to me!!!
HA HA HA!!!

Mikey,
Now you see? There you go again. I was half tempted to believe you
were at least part of an adult. You and I had our little "fun". I said
you were a fucking idiot and you said I was dickhead (or something
along those lines). I left you alone quietly, because quite frankly,
you just arent worth my time. Now here you go starting this little
game all over. You are just proving that you are exactly what everyone
calls you in here. More importantly, you are the childish shop steward
dick sucking troll you wish to be.
By the way.............
Blow me.
