I have maintenance responsibilities that requires me to take care of
16 RTU's which are being controlled by a 1998 Metasys system.
What systems should I be considering as a replacement to take
advantage of newer software and to get away from our dependency on
Johnson Controls for maintenance and control revisions. We have
numerous 50T and 30T Trane units to control temperature and humidity
on. All opinions are welcome.

Trane Tracer or Trane Tracker controls.

Look for something that is LonMark compliant.

There are a zillion programs to complicate life ranging from cpc for
dummies to NASA control, all turning equipment off and on. Its all
nothing more than a glorified time clock. IOW pick your own poison.

Old news. Get updated. Time for your refresher course.
It appears you've spent too much time fishing.

"Glorified Time Clock"? As a controls guy, I take some exception to that
statement..

These things can do load sharing, peak energy limiting, safety control,
diagnostic aid.... and more.

Stovebolt, proprietary systems are becoming (quickly) a thing of the
past. Ask around your area for a good controls systems integrator and
you (and your management) will be pleasantly surprised.

You're talking to a union bench-warmer, he has no earthly CLUE
what you're on about.
