First of all, who in hell still works on disposable AC and what the hell is
this group now? A buy it, try it, and if it wont work, fuck em all and
return it group?

Try returning a Mr Slim for noise..LOL...since there is little to none..that
would be hilarious..

Course...DO IT RIGHT the first time, and you dont have this issue now do
you?

If I did it right and listened to the a/c contractors and salesmen of the
stores I visited, they would have sold me an even larger one (18000 btu's
was recommended). So I thank you for your intelligent insightful and
worthwhile opinion.

My insight on this issue is from YOUR postings.
Several more years of experence in HVAC than you obviously is where the
sarcasm comes from, since I dont sell direct to a homeowner, nor would I
just off the shelf.
I cant see your home, therefore, an accurate explanation or J calc is
impossible from ANYONE in here....so...you are a whiney guy that isnt sure
what he wants to do, but hes gonna fuck the rest of us doing it.
Actually, if I had to GUESS, you need a Mitsu unit, of course, with an
inverter compressor..but hey..what do I know? Window shakers are for
trailers and garages...not your home.
