Don,

I'll bet with this years weather you're more than looking forward to heading
to a more "calm" place in terms of weather. Also, I'd like to see what
you're planning for the new place...

I'd just like to second 3D's comment. With all these storms, I wonder
at what point people on the coast say enough is enough. BTW Don, I was
watching CNN this morning and they had a guy in Punta Gorda (I think I
got that right), and it sounded familar to me. Don't you live near
there, or am I mistaken? They were showing a Residential building that
was still being rebuilt after Charlie, and how they were trying to get
all of their stored materials under cover to protect them from Wilma.
What a beat down......

Poor Don he's probably battening down the hatches. I hope the storm takes a
left to the peninsula instead of its predicted path. I've seen the pictures
he posted from Charlie. The one with the sand and seaweed in the
entertainment unit on the third floor was an eye opener for me. One could
only imagine the terror that comes with living in Florida preparing for
Wilma at present. Best wishes Don.

Yeah I live near there, sort of.
Punta Gorda is about 20 miles north of here.
I go to the shooting range there occaissionally.

Its not really the hurricanes that bother me overall, though the adrenalin
spikes and looming peril are bothersome.
Its the heat.
I can't stand it anymore.

If I was going to stay here I'd bolster my house so as to ward off just
about any hurricane.
Spent quite a bit of time over the past year since Charley considering how a
new construction home can be designed so as to be able to sustain a Cat 5
and in the event of cataclysmic grid failure provide a comfortable existence
for the occupants.
I know how to do this and I know how to do it inexpensively.
Intelligent Design. heh-heh

It's all still up in the air.
We've spent countless hours, most of the past year, wearing out realtor.com
and have spoken to loads of realtors and I am real optimistic about the
whole thing.
My wife's brother is a broker there so he's running down some stuff for us.
Had a realtor here to the house this week and everything sounded good with
that too.
The (tourist) season is just ready to start and people move property around
here like its a Monopoly game.
I really have no idea what the future holds.....LOL

Stay away from shit, like farms, or people who let
let their dogs shit all over. The flys are horrendous.
In Muskoka Ontario the stupid cottage people from
Toronto who have more money than brains use Muskoka
as a dog-shit park. On the bright side fly traps can
work well, on your property perimeter, but the dogs
& cats kill off the wildlife.
My 2.5 cents.
