| My pool has dark charcoal colored brick coping with charcoal grout.
(the surrounding deck and porch floor are a light grey textured finish
[bomanite])
Below that, at the waterline, is two rows of dark mottled blue 6"x6" tile
with dark gray grout.
Below that is the white/gray Pebble Tec surface.
Recently I was cleaning the tile (algae accumulates on the tile and must be
cleaned off periodically, unlike the Pebble Tec) and noticed a continuous
crack in all 3 horizontal grout lines.
We all know what happens when water works its way into and behind tile
seams.
Its just a matter of time before some tiles will be lying at the bottom of
the pool.
So after Wilma passes I am going to siphon the pool below the tile and then
regrout the tile with charcoal colored silicone caulk.
My next pool won't have tile at the waterline, the pool surface itself will
continue up to the bottom side of the coping.
I'm also playing with the idea of not having a coping.
Just run the textured deck surface right out to the edge of the pool.
The whole thing is about having a clean look and low maintenance.
