Anybody heard of these things?
Its a printer that prints out those traceable forensic dots (which indicate
the time, date, and serial number of the printer on the back of the pages)
which makes the printing process much slower.
Is there no facet of human existence left that has NOT been invaded /
trespassed / hijacked / stolen by the gov't?

worse than that, have you realized yet you are also paying for the gov't
to track you?

The cost in both development and hardware for HP to put this "feature"
onto their products most definitely gets passed onto the consumer.

Yup.

The gov't cost to the consumer is EIGHT times more than it would be on the
private market, due to regulations and red tape.

The thing that bothers me beyond the cost issue is the fact that through
gov't irresponsibility and missuse this technology will be inevitably result
in innocent people being incarcerated or killed outright by the goonz.

I have referenced many times that the gov't Leviathan is like a drunken
giant stumbling about wreaking havoc everywhere and on everyone but I will
add one thing to that. Leviathan is also like a small child, very difficult
to impossible to deal with on an intelligent level.

Its best to try to stay out of the drunken childs path as much as possible
for once you get tangled in its web its very difficult to get out of it.

I might have to get my old Panasonic 9 pin down out of the attic ('member
them things?).
Wonder if I can still get a ribbon for it and is it compatible with XP? LOL
