Yep, you're right.
However, food becomes less of a priority when a hurricane hits. Your
*system* shuts down, and eating no longer becomes necessary, especially hot
food.
We stuffed our fridge/freezer with water filled tupperware and bags of ice.
During the 5 days of Charley I consumed less than 3000 calories but drank 30
gallons of water.
Generators have become very scarce around here. Thanks to Arlene last week
all the generators are gone, snapped up immediately and continuously. I
still don't have one but will get one in the next couple of weeks. And a
small window air conditioner. I'm also working with my brother to develope
some low voltage accessories that can be connected to Ryobi 18v batteries.
