| I finally broke down and bought a *Pomegranite* today, so can you remind me
on how to deal with this thing.
I remember the juice is highly stainable to countertops and such so I won't
touch it until I hear from you.
In the meantime I'm gonna google this thing and see whats up.
**They were 2 for $2 at a local store so I grabbed one.

Don:
The easiest way to get your pomegranate fix is to buy Langer's Pomegranate
Juice.

My wife and I like to mix it 50/50 with orange juice.

If you mix it 50/50, where on earth does the 20% vodka fit in???

That comes later when you mix the 50/50 juice 50/50 with vodka (or gin if
you prefer).

Mathemetamagically speaking, the alcohol atoms are so small that they
fit in between the big beach ball "healthy stuff" atoms and take up no
space. It's well known science, same as the
if-no-one-sees-you-eat-the-cake-the-calories-don't-count postulate.

I've seen it in the stores but have been reluctant to purchase it because I
don't know how it tastes and its kinda expensive.
If I like the flavor of my pom I'll probably get some juice.
Mix it with OJ huh? I'll have to remember that.

I think the pom juice is a bit tart. The OJ seems to add a bit of
sweetness that works very well with the pom juice.
We buy the stuff in 1/2 gallon jugs from COSTCO (a warehouse chain).
Read the labels on the mixed juice versions carefully. Most are only 25-
30% pom/berry juice. The rest is usually white grape or something
similar.

But 100 proof vodka is still 50% water, and that does add to the volume ;)

It's quite tart. OJ has a lot of sugars in it naturally, so it does go
well - the pom. juice cuts the sweetness and the OK smooths the tartness.
When I make "cranberry sauce", I start with whole cranberries (esp the
huge red Maine ones, if I could ever find them down here...), use
cranberry juice in place of water, and OJ in place of sugar. I also do
other things "to" it, sometimes add pecans, or maybe some other fruits,
but essentially, that's it. Oh, and some plain gelatine. It thickens up
very well - without dumping in wads of refined/white sugar =:-p
There is a brand called Knudson which sells pure unadulterated juices, as
well as concentrates, the latter including blueberry, cranberry, and
cherry. They also sell pom juice and all sorts of other non-sweetened
quality juices. But the concentrates are fun ;)

Thanks to Don, Wife bought a $2 pomegranite and
if it sucks, I'm mailing him an invoice!
She priced 100% Pom juice at $11/quart, and passed.

I'm sure there's been a time in your past where you've thought
something looked unnatural and got to like it once you started tearing
into it regularly. And you were probably three sheets to the wind
then, too!
