When I was in China, in my shower, on the wall just above my head
haphazardly hung a small hot water tank... along with the constant
sewage-like smell in the air of the washroom.
Everything was hooked up with an odd maze of plastic pipes running
along the wall.
The wastewater from my shower ran halfway underneath my washing machine
before entering a drain surrounded by an open, water-flilled trap (kind
of like a donut moat) that had some odd things floating around in it.
Some curious black flies hung around on the wall just above that drain
from which presumably emanated the smell.
