| School I went to just built a new building. Architect was either a
genius or an idiot -- the jury is still out, I think. The basic
premise was "kids hate school but like the mall, so let's design the
school to look and act like a mall". It eliminated things like the
cafeteria. Instead it has a food court. Made the hallways a place
other than where you have your locker and where you beat up nerds.
Thinks like that.
FYI, most schools around here (upstate NY) are going with ground-linked
heat pump systems to save nrg. 1 school is so off the beaten path that
it put in its own co-gen facility.

If the architect was studying the mall more than the core reasons why
kids like malls-- assuming they do-- then one might understand why the
jury's still out.
