TomCat wants a superbuilding that'll never work, but here's some
interesting video that was over in a motorcycle group. It is a guy
riding through Taiwan. The traffic in pretty bad, but the scooters and
bikes get around pretty good.

I just watched the first few. The Second one is worth looking at.

This is high-density living without having one big building.

I'm all for it, but I have a feeling it would take some time for drivers to
assimilate to motorcycles. I'm sure in Taiwan they are much more aware of
cycles and scooters. Probably in the amount of time it takes to do that,
and with the amount of people kiled, the nanny state will start to butt
their nose into it.

Very cool videos though. I would love to buy a motorcycle or even a scooter
for commuting. Doesn'
tt seem that big a deal to me, but for some reason in California we love
our.

I think the only place "Lane sharing" is legal is in California, so go
for it. Motorcycle Safety Foundation has a great motorcycle safety
course for people just starting out (and people seeking to learn more).
They even provide the bikes for the class.

More like, Americans would have to get used to accepting the fact that,
if you ride a non-enclosed conveyance, you might arrive at your
destination wet. Meaning, "unkempt".

Just imagine:
an aggressively-driven Hummer inevitably impacting a scooter

I've seen people on scooters, and have actually thought about getting
one myself, for small gorcery trips. But there are just *so* many
humongotrucks/megasuvs being driven by stupid, self-obsessed, overly-
aggressive, "me first dammit" careless a-holes; I don't relish the
thought of me and my scooter ending up being scraped out of some
Hummer's grillwork bit by bit with a dental pick...
