That could have been last night. Brrrrrr. -2F this morning but a
balmy 5F down by the river when I drove over the bridge.

That's like -18 Canadian. Brrrrr. Sounds even colder like that.

I hope Don is staying warm ... without any humidiy in his house. But
at least the static sparks will keep him warm

Yesterday we had a relentless wind to make it feel much colder. The wind has
died down today, so it's nowhere near as bad. I've got to go deposit a
retainer and I'm hesitating. That's not like me : )

You know it dood.
I get them checks working for me asap.
My wife lets em lay around for weeks.
She told me the other day that 2 companies she does business with have sent
$15k worth of checks to our last address and she never got them.
What the?
We moved way back in april.

It was down to about 18 this morning with a windchill of 5.
Yesterday it was even worse.
Thats just about my limit, without breaking out the heavy equipment.

me thinks Don's a winter sissy, 18F is
perfect for flooooding rinks, ask MikeB.
A manly winter starts at -15F, when the trees
freez, and at -30F the forest crackles,
(snap-crackle-pop), it will come eventually.

What's he talking about, wind chill of 5F. BFD. I don't know what
ours was, but the weather map on TV said it was about -20. That's
chilly. I finally started up the wood stove.

When its in the low 30's I wear shorts.
(can't STAND these long pants!!!)
I think I've acclimated well to the climate change.
Its in the 70's and 80's in my old hometown.
My brother down there mowed the yard the other day and was sweating. heh

Funny about wood stoves, it's a bit warm at 30F,
starts working around 15F, then get's efficient
near 0F and below. (We had a down-drafter,
with heat-exchanger and an exterior air supply).

Was reading about your area Pat...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070126...sylvania_pileup
I couldn't figure it out, one killed, but only
slight injuries.

I'm sure you'll find that your "limit" keeps migrating as the winter
progresses.

True.
In FL 40 degree weather would have me cowering in the house.
Here, its acceptable.
The key is dressing properly, with decent garments.
Layers.
Its a pain to have to put on and yank stuff off when you go in and out of
the house but thats just the way it is.
I understand now the importance of a mudroom and an entry closet.
