Hey, it rained here and we got some snow. So why'd I stay up late?

IRS gives storm victims extra two days to file taxes

April 17, 2007

WASHINGTON --Taxpayers affected by the spring nor'easter have been
given an extra two days to file their federal tax returns.

The deadline was extended to midnight Thursday for storm victims to
get their returns in the mail without incurring late fees or
penalties, the Internal Revenue Service announced on Monday.

"Because this unusually forceful storm hit within 24 hours of the
filing deadline, we are giving affected taxpayers 48 additional
hours," IRS Commissioner Mark Everson said.

The storm caused widespread power outages, flooding, road closures and
evacuations in several states, making it difficult for some people to
meet the Tuesday midnight deadline.

People filing paper returns can mark their returns with the words
"April 16 Storm,", while electronic filers can use their software's
"disaster" feature, if available.

Weather and natural-disaster related extensions are not unusual, an
IRS spokesman said.

I was thinking about ya, I know your not in NYC tho.
Recall people were talking about this being a winter
without a winter, a few months ago, then boom a lot
of records were broken, but rather than being a few
freaks it's been persistent. It's almost like the season
shifted 3 months.

Now watch JUNE-July be a scorcher, ugh.

We didn't get too much. We're too far west. Out where my mother
lives, one school district added a day to Easter break because they
had an extra snow day. Then WHAM, they needed it right at the end of
the break but didn't have it. Oops.

Was supposed to snow here yesterday but it didn't.
My wife and I just spent the past hour sitting in the sun and BSing.
Tomorrow its supposed to be cold but I don't take the word of weather people
anymore.
I have a wait-n-see attitude.
