I was in Home Depot and ...
|
|
|
| I was browsing through Home Depot (nothing else to do on a Thursay
night) and found a product I've never seen before. They had sheetrock
*without* a paper backer on either side -- sort of like concrete board
without the concrete. They were touting it for "high humidity"
locations because it didn't have paper for mold growth. The salesman
said it was for places like "on the first floor ceiling right under
the upstairs toilet or shower", so that if the water leaking, it would
reduce the black mold.
It's probably been around for years and it's just that I've never seen
it before (of course Don will say he's been using it in Florida for
the last 85 years) but the guy at HD said they had only had it for a
week or so.
Just over $11 per sheet IIRC.
Ahhh, Yet another thing for you'all to spec.

Never heard of it.
I recommend, oh whats it called, got a brain tumor all of a sudden, the rock
like material in 2'x4' sheets?
Cheaper builders use that cheezy greenboard.

yeah, you use the greenboard in the bathroom, but you don't use it on
the ceiling of the dining room on the floor underneath the bathroom.

I don't know about years, but it's been around. The industry is responding
to the recent hysteria about mold.

Thank God they waited until after penicillin was discovered.

Is it hysteria?
Or is it fact?
Remind me to tell you about the clients that paid decent money to have mold,
mildew, etc. professionally installed in their home.

Mould/mold on architectural mouldings/moldings?
I don't know what all the fuss is about.

You're too cute. How's it been going lately?
Per Corel for 3DH and you for fungitecture.
I noticed you're offering t-shirts.

You're too kind.
Things are happening slowly but surely, with the best designs yet to be
released, mostly because of the difficulty of printing digitally using white
ink.
I hope to soon release a range of shirt designs specifically for architects
and engineers, so stay tuned.
