Birdhouse orientation?

I'm installing small wooden birdhouses today.
They are made of wood and will be placed on top of
wooden 4x4 posts, all out in a large pasture with
zero trees, etc.

Question:
Is there general agreement as to the "direction" that the
birdhouse opening (entrance) faces. My thinking is to place
the door to the North-East, as out wind typically comes from
the South-West.
